Frequently Asked Questions - Worker's Compensation
Our frequently asked questions are grouped into eight sections:
Note
It is always important to know what the “date of injury” is, because the benefits available to the worker will vary depending on that date.
Reminder
It is ALWAYS important to determine if there has been a decision made by the Board and what appeal deadline is running. Appeal deadlines are set out in the correspondence from the Board – 30 days from the date of the decision for return to work or Labour Market Re-entry issues; 6 months from the date of the decision for all other types of issues.
If the injured worker has to order their file from the WSIB (eg. when more medical information is needed), the MPP offices are usually very helpful in getting access fairly quickly.
